Sunitha Krishnan - The Crusader

Sunitha Krishnan has dedicated her life to rescuing women and children from sex slavery. She co-founded an NGO called 'Prajwala' based at Hyderabad, AP (India), which helps in the rehabilitation of those broken souls. She leads India’s battle against sexual slavery by uniting government, corporations and NGOs to end human trafficking. In the courageous talk shown above (Courtesy Ted Talks ) , she tells three powerful stories, as well as her own, and calls for a more humane approach to helping these young victims rebuild their lives. She had nearly damaged one of her ear's hearing some years back, fighting with some goons! Salute to this woman for all her works!!!

The Haka...

Haka is the traditional dance form of the Maori of New Zealand. It is a posture dance performed by a group with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment. The All black Rugby team of New Zealand is famous for performing the Haka before the opponent team. See the video above. It really looks like a 'war-dance' against the opponents...This type of Haka is known as 'Kamate' Haka, and the verbal shout go like this: Ringa pakia! (Slap the hands against the thighs!) Uma tiraha! (Puff out the chest!) Turi whatia! (Bend the knees!) Hope whai ake! (Let the hip follow!) Waewae takahia kia kino! (Stamp the feet as hard as you can!) Ka mate, ka mate ('I die, I die,) Ka ora' Ka ora' ('I live, 'I live,) Ka mate, ka mate ('I die, 'I die) Ka ora Ka ora" ('I live, 'I live,) Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru (This is the hairy man) Nāna i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā (Who caused the sun to shine again for me) Upane

PT on You...

An humiliated PT Usha broke down after she was not given proper accommodation at the National Athletics Meet in Bhopal. Wow! Now this is a News. We are talking about a yesteryear International level Athlete, now a coach for other female athletes. A multiple gold medalist in Asian Games and a "nearly" bronze medalist in Olympics. Really pity to see that one who has put her heart and soul into a sport where recognition arrives very rare is meted out with such a situation. If this is the attitude towards a person like Usha (Remember she was named sportsperson of the century by the Indian Olympic Association! Phew!!!), one can imagine the plight of other players. No wonder why Michael Fennell, the president of the Commonwealth Games Federation is sceptical about India's capability to held big sport events which is scheduled to be held next year. And with the recent number of accidents (Walls crumbling down, cranes crashing) in the Capital, it seems that the guy is good to be

Another Child abuse...

Image
Another news of Child abuse and monstrosity...This time by a small screen actress to a 10 year old girl child, who had been picked up from her home town (Amravati) in lieu of her studies and keep ins. I was just shocked to see the child's face and hands...Oh God! How can some one put on things like this? The child had been scalded with hot spoons and both her hands are burnt at several places. Her eyes was red from both sides as if smashed with a fist. And believe me, this was just one of the cases which surfaced out during recent times. Cases like this are rampant in Urban India, and god knows how many children are under the legs of those monsters. One of a noted NGO worker from Kerala, during her interview to some media had cited another shocking example. She saw this child at the beaches of Kovalam, some 12 to 13 years old, keeping up the pace with some foreign tourists. She noticed that the boy had developed scars and rashes on his lips and face. Later she managed to meet the p
